My family’s life changed in the blink of an eye when I got hit head-on at 50mph on my way to work early one morning, many years ago. My name is James Freeman and this is where our real estate journey began. I had recently made the commitment to finally become a store manager at a cell phone company after years of being recruited and I just started that training. I was getting married in a couple weeks and we were planning to start a family. I thought this would be the best option to provide for my family after years of being asked to step into a higher position. I knew no matter what, I could provide a good life for my family if I became a store manager, even if it meant being away from them all the time. At least they would grow up with more opportunities than I had. We didn’t know it at the time, but that collision was a blessing in disguise because we wouldn’t be where we are today helping people with their real estate goals and dreams if that never happened. We have been buying and selling real estate since 2013 and are excited to announce the launch of our real estate brokerage Freeman Real Estate. We are forever grateful to everyone we’ve helped and who has helped us along the way.

Our journey into real estate started 10 years ago when we bought our first home. Ashley was in college and working at a pet store, and I was working at a cell phone store. After my car accident, I wasn’t able to work. After several years of doctors, chiropractors, surgery, physical therapy with little relief, we had to sell our home to continue being able to afford to live. Over the next several years, we continued to buy, rehab/remodel each home we lived in, and then sell it to keep our growing family afloat while I was slowly recovering from my accident. We hired many different agents during this time and had varying experiences with each one. This inspired me to get my real estate license because of the knowledge we gained from rehabbing houses and the fact that I just knew I would be great at it! My wife and I have been on the other side of the table many times buying and selling real estate as regular people before we got licensed and we can relate to the waves of emotions people go through during the transaction. Because of our experiences, we are better equipped to help guide people through them.

Once I made the commitment to become a licensed realtor, I started taking the required classes while trying to hide my back pain in class with other students. As if the pain wasn’t enough, other students were asking me “Why are you even here?” ‘How can you even do this job?’ since I had to stand in the back of class for weeks because sitting down was unbearable. To top it off, my niece in Texas suffered a terminal brain injury during my last week of classes to get my license. I will never forget getting that call. I immediately left class and went straight to the airport to be with my niece and sister. I did not know if I would ever finish getting my license, but I needed to be there for my sister. Eventually after being in Texas for a few months, I had to come back and finish what I started. My wife and kids needed me. It was hard but I knew my niece would be so disappointed in me if I used her as an excuse to give up. So, I came back to Minnesota, finished the commitment I made to myself, and got my Real Estate License!

Fast forward a few years, my wife Ashley became my business partner in 2021 and our business has taken off and we have grown so much since she came on board. We work together as a team and complement each other’s strengths well to provide amazing service to everyone we help.

The experiences we have gone through have left us with a unique set of skills and knowledge that we optimize for the benefit of the people we help and have fueled our desire to become The Real Estate Agent You Deserve. We have seen and experienced both desirable and undesirable traits in real estate agents and strive to be the best agents we can possibly be. One way we do this is by constantly learning more in our field and getting extra designations like the ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), SRS (Seller Representative Specialist) & SFR (Short sales & Foreclosure Resource) to better help our client’s needs.  We are here to be your realtors for life!

Our areas of expertise range from first-time home buyers to seasoned investors. We are very good at our job and helping people in the current real estate market. We specialize in helping first time homebuyers, but we love helping get your home sold for top dollar as well! We do this by utilizing all the skills we have acquired over the years and applying it to our tried and true marketing strategy. It can be stressful buying or selling a home sometimes, and we understand that. If it was easy, everyone would do it. With that in mind we are very sensitive to your needs and work diligently to help accomplish your real estate goals and dreams! 

 My wife and I have been together for 13 fantastic years and married for 7 wonderful years. We have three amazing young kids and another baby girl on the way.  We cherish our time together as a family every day, and we love to serve and help our community in more ways than just helping people obtain homeownership. Our family donates to various charities throughout the year. This year we have pledged to give back a minimum of 10% of our income to people/families that could really use it. Ashley and I always try to help other people in need and be positive role models for our children. We’re very family oriented, but always available when you need us.
